My first artifact is my freshmen autumn quarter reflection. For this reflection, I wrote it at the end of my freshmen fall quarter. At this point, I had finsihed the first chemistry class, first honors class, and taken my first college midterm and final. With this perspective, I was able to properly reflect on my freshmen fall quarter
My second artifact is an response email from a paper I turned into my honors 230 professor. He was harsh in his critic but this lead to me meeting with him and looking into resources that will help my writing. When I originally read this, I wanted to dismiss him as a bad professor but looking back on it, this experience in his class has helped my writing.
My third artifact was an assignment from my early fall start class, Laws of Sex. For this assignment, we had to conduct an experiment wherein we had to do something that was descriptive of the other gender and see how people react. For example, a boy could dress like a girl, cross their legs, or paint their nails. A girl could "man-spread", dress like a boy, or burp loudly. For me I painted my nails and watched how people reacted at my summer job. This experiment opened my eyes to how people gender certain actions.
My fourth artifact is an assignment from honors 230 wherein I was able to write a paper that was satisfactory the first time. This was after I have gone to an adviser and the writing center at Mary Gates Hall. This helped my writing and helped make this class seem less of a challenge than it was before.
